Our Quality Control Scientists are self-motivated and conscientious individuals who are passionate about ensuring that OGT’s products are safe, effective and fit for purpose thus allowing them to be available globally and state of the art. Joining a busy quality control team headed up by the QC Team Leader, you will play an integral role on a wide range of tasks within the laboratory including goods in testing and equipment maintenance.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensure all equipment used in the development and manufacture of Cytocell products is calibrated and in good working order, maintaining equipment history and ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept, also dealing promptly with any equipment failures and if necessary, removing such from use
  • Quality Control of products using a range of molecular biology techniques, including NGS and microarray analysis.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding service and calibration requirements
  • Ensure that quarantine Q code items are tested in a timely manner
  • Carry out customer complaint and investigational tests of the QC archive as required
  • Issue controlled copies of documents as required
  • Maintain document archive in accordance with Cytocell's document retention policy
  • Maintain Cytocell retain archive and test as required
  • Timely completion of all paperwork
  • Report non-conformances to the QC Team Leader
  • To complete any other tasks as commensurate with the level and nature of the post as delegated by the QC Team Leader.

What we’re looking for in you:

Essential

  • Degree in a science related subject, biology based or similar discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience of molecular biology techniques such as PCR and Nick Translation
  • Experience within a production or laboratory environment
  • Ability to follow detailed process and an organised approach to work.

Desirable

  • Experience in laboratory management
  • Quality system experience such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485.
