Qkine is a Cambridge, UK-based manufacturer of high purity, animal-free growth factors, cytokines and other complex proteins. We combine proprietary production processes with protein engineering technology to tackle fundamental biological and scale-up challenges for the fast-growing stem cell, organoid, regenerative medicine and cultured meat sectors. This has enabled us to attract a loyal customer following from both leading biotechnology companies and world-class academic institutions. 

 

As we enter the next phase of our growth, we are looking for a knowledgeable Production Scientist to join our busy protein manufacture team. You will hold a Life Science Degree and possess experience in a biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related scientific discipline. Experience working in the Biotech industry would be desirable. Knowledge in producing high purity proteins and analysing their quality is essential for this position, with experience of hitting continuous manufacture production targets being advantageous. The successful candidate will work independently to set targets and plan work, have great attention to detail, good communication skills and a flexible approach. We are looking for proactive team players with a broad range of skills and definite can-do attitude. 

 

You will have:

• Experience in recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization.

• Hands on knowledge in working with AKTA systems, or similar types of equipment, and ability to troubleshoot purification issues.

• Experience of ELN platform and accurate data collection and presentation.

• Working with a QMS such as ISO9001: 2015 or ISO13485 would be an advantage.
