About the role Abcam, a global bioscience organization, is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Personal Assistant to provide a full, professional and confidential PA service to the Senior Leadership Team as well as providing cover for other members of the PA team when required. About the Personal Assistant (PA) Team at Abcam At Abcam, the PA team is currently made of 4 highly experienced Personal Assistants who work very much in collaboration to ensure a professional and consistent PA service to our team of senior leaders. Our Personal Assistants play a key role in enabling our leaders to successfully fulfil their responsibilities on a daily basis. The work environment is very much one of collaboration and fun. It is fast-paced and provides a wide variety of responsibilities; no two days are the same! Roles and responsibilities: Manage complex diaries of several members of the Senior Leadership Team which include but are not limited to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Senior VP of HR, Senior VP of R&D and VP of New Product Development. Set up complex meetings involving both internal and external customers, arrange meeting rooms, meet and greet visitors, arrange refreshments and lunches and ensure the smooth running of the meetings on the day. (These meetings will regularly involve people from both the UK and overseas.) Manage the post and handle calls in a professional and friendly manner at all times. Organise global travel arrangements as necessary (hotels, flights, visas, itineraries etc). Use our internal system to accurately produce expense claims and raise Purchase Orders. Arrange internal meetings, preparing agendas, attending and taking minutes/noting actions as well as proactively ensuring relevant follow-ups. Assist in arranging quarterly and annual Performance Development Reviews. Get involve in ad-hoc projects, which may comprise some project management. Proactively help with covering other members of the PA team when necessary. About you You typically have solid administration experience within a fast-paced environment, ideally supporting a busy team of several people, having demonstrated a high level of organisation and resilience at all times. Your experience can be either as a PA or as a team assistant, business support assistant or any solid administration experience that require juggling with various demands and working with several individuals at once. Your mindset and attitude are key to us and we will be looking for someone who is positive, with a can-do attitude and a customer service focused approach at all times. You also are resilient and able to cope well with pressure.
