Overview

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) seeks a Systems Administrator to join us on a temporary full-time basis, initially for twelve months, based at our Cambridge Science Park office (free onsite parking and close to the guided bus and Cambridge North train station).

 

As an experienced Systems Administrator, you will provide a high quality technical support function for standard hardware and associated operating systems, telecommunications, back-office software and applications used within the Royal Society of Chemistry.

We are looking for:  

 

Essential: 

  • Expert knowledge of VMWare ESX 6.0+
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2003-2012 R2 and Windows domain environments (AD/DNS).
  • Expert knowledge of Veeam Backup solution and tape archiving.
  • Expert knowledge of Exchange 2010.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate IT infrastructure (virtualisation, networking, hardware, client devices, operating systems, active directory services, systems resiliency).
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and a proactive team player, individually or with colleagues.
  • An excellent communicator that can explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical clients.
  • Understands and applies various project documentation.

Desirable: 

  • ITIL certification
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Atlassian suite (Confluence/Jira/BitBucket)
  • Experiencing working within Agile practices, particularly SCRUM/Kanban.
