Are you aged 40-74 without a pre-existing condition?
Even though you might be feeling great, if you’re over 40 you may be at risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes or dementia. A free NHS Health Check can help you reduce these risks and help you stay healthy.

Full NHS Health Checks Include:

Blood Sugar level test (HbA1c Diabetes Test), Cholesterol test (TOTAL, HDL and Ratio ), Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, BMI, Lifestyle Screening to prevent Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Stroke and Dementia)

A health check takes approx 20-30 minutes and results are given instantly.You are eligible for an NHS Health Check if:

  • Aged between 40 and 74.

  • Resident of Cambridgeshire or is registered with a GP surgery in Cambridgeshire does not apply to those having a check at their regular place of employment

  • Not diagnosed with Hypertension (high blood pressure)

  • Not diagnosed with Diabetes.

  • Not taking statins. (treatment for high cholesterol)

  • Not diagnosed with any sort of heart problem (angina, heart attack, heart failure, etc.).

  • Not diagnosed with Coronary heart disease or any other heart condition.

  • Not diagnosed with kidney disease.

  • Not diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation or Peripheral Arterial Disease.

  • Not had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years with Healthy You/ GP Practice (if unsure please check with GP Practice before making appointment with the Outreach Clinic)

The team from Healthy You will contact you before your appointment to conduct a telephone triage to ensure you qualify.  Appointments are limited and are offered on a first come first serve basis.
