It's an essential facet in smartphones, laptops, cars, data centres and industrial sensors, but how did Arm's technology come to power devices used by 70% of the global population? Some 33 years after its foundation in Cambridge, the company is readying a blockbuster Nasdaq IPO and eyeing new growth markets.

This event will detail the secrets of Arm's success - from its long relationship with Apple, to powering the breakthrough Nokia handset and Amazon's current leadership in cloud computing. There are also challenges ahead: in China, and from royalty-free competition.

Former Sunday Times and London Evening Standard journalist James Ashton tells the story in his new book "The Everything Blueprint: The Microchip Design that Changed the World". He will be joined at this event by Jamie Urquhart, one of Arm's co-founders and the company's former sales chief and chief operating officer.

With an introduction and Q&A led by the Cambridge Independent's Mike Scialom.
