Frankfurt Helmholtz School and Heraeus make safer high school graduation possible for students with UV air disinfection

  • Date 27 Apr 2021

The Hanau-based technology group is equipping the high school's canteen with modern UV-C air purifiers. "This is where all the high school graduates from different courses can come together during exam days and possibly also meet the fifth and sixth graders - so optimum air hygiene is extremely important in the cafeteria in particular, especially since no masks can be worn while eating in our school restaurant," said principal Gerrit Ulmke.

Martin Ackermann, Managing Director of Heraeus Noblelight, further explained: "Air purification with UV-C is the world's best technology against the SarsCov2 virus and against all other viruses. The renowned Fraunhofer Institute has demonstrated virus reduction of more than 99 percent in a test with a replica classroom." Ackermann reported a "tremendous growth in interest in our UV-C devices in the region and far beyond."
