Marketing and Promoting your Innovation

Do you have a new technology product?
Is your product near to market?
Need support with promotion and marketing?

St John’s Innovation Centre is offering skills development for innovative businesses through free media relations workshops commencing September 26th 2011.

Funded through ideaSpace and the Enterprise Accelerator programme, these practical intensive support workshops will help entrepreneurs improve their own media relations and communication, or alternatively, to understand what is required in order to direct someone else.

The workshops will cover key marketing and public relation topics including: The Marketing Mix, Developing case studies, Preparing to exhibit, Writing case studies and Dealing with the press.  Workshops will be tailored to each partner, for example wireless technology or engineering, however, the principles of media relations are widely applicable.

Following the intensive support workshops, up to 16 companies will be offered one-to-one support to assist their development of media materials, leading to an opportunity to exhibit at Meerkats and Avatars 2011 (M&A).  At this event entrepreneurs with disruptive technologies and near market products will be given an opportunity to meet technology journalists face-to-face and to pitch to investors.  Exhibitors at similar events (Meerkats and Avatars 2010) have received significant market awareness and extensive national press coverage, including from the BBC and the Guardian.
