For our March Meetup we are hosting an Embedded TDD Kata hosted by Brice Fernandes. Join us for an evening of coding, food and drinks! Come and code along, share ideas, discuss best practices and learn from Codurance Crafters and your peers in the Software Crafters Cambridge community.

What’s the format?
After a short intro, we’ll get into groups/pairs or work solo, whatever people feel most comfortable with, and start building.

You choose how you want to work and what language you want to code in. This session is about collaborating with others, becoming a better developer and building your network, in a fun, relaxed environment.

We'll be sharing ideas, discussing best practices and using this as an opportunity to learn from our fellow coders.

Details of the evening's Embedded TDD Kata
TDD is often presented in high level languages that use the facilities of a well configured development environment. But what if you're working on embedded devices or low level code, such as for an Operating System or microcontroller? How do you apply the principles of TDD then?

In this hands on session, we'll go over a way of implementing TDD in embedded software, such as with C, Zig and Rust. We'll go over some techniques for managing testing hardware interface and some low level tools available for us to run real test code on constrained systems.

All levels of experience are welcome - you don't need to have prior experience in embedded devices, TDD or C, Zig or Rust to join in.

Food and Drinks
Pizza and drinks will be provided upon arrival, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

All you need to do is bring a laptop if you’d like to code along.

Want to bring a friend? Great! Just ask them to RSVP so we know they are coming.
