Xaar launches 'larger drop' Xaar 1002 GS12U printhead for UV applications

  • Date 26 May 2015

Xaar, the world’s leading inkjet technology specialist, is pleased to announce the launch of the Xaar 1002 GS12U printhead, its first larger drop printhead for UV applications.

The Xaar 1002 GS12 complements the Xaar 1002 GS6 (6-42pL) variant for UV applications, launched last year, which is designed for applications where high-resolution text and images with smooth tones are important. Like the GS6, the GS12 delivers exceptional print quality and reliability to manufacturers of UV printers worldwide. It is a highly versatile printhead and enables a choice of speed depending on the application without compromising on quality e.g. high ink volume at high speed or lower ink volume at super fast production speeds.

“We have worked closely with our OEM partners to develop the Xaar 1002 GS12 to meet growing market demands for a flexible printhead that can deliver high build varnish and the ultimate in opaque whites quickly and consistently,” says Richard Barham, Sales and Marketing Director, Xaar. “Although new to the UV market, this printhead is based on our highly-successful Xaar 1002 GS12 ceramics printhead which is well proven and now used by the majority of the ceramic tile digital decoration industry today.”

Systems featuring the new Xaar 1002 GS12 printhead for UV applications are available now from a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers including Autobond (digital spot varnish applications) and Till (high opacity white for direct-to-shape applications).
