Jeanette Walker appointed Director of Cambridge Science Park

Trinity College is pleased to announce the key appointment of Jeanette Walker as Director of Cambridge Science Park.

Jeanette, working in partnership with managing agents Bidwells, will lead the transformational developments planned over the next few years, in addition to enhancing the community located there.

Based on a visionary, landscape-led master plan, new developments for the site will encompass state-of-the-art buildings including the Bradfield Centre, improvements to the transport infrastructure, innovative public areas and a range of new amenities incorporating a hotel and conference centre.

Prior to joining the Park, Jeanette worked as Project Director for the developers of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus where she was instrumental in attracting new tenants and in creating a sense of community – an achievement which was recognised in 2014 when the Campus won Property Week’s prestigious Place Making Award.

Jeanette’s previous experience includes five years as Director of Business Development at the region’s biotechnology networking organisation ERBI and, before that, as Business Development Director for the regional inward investment agency.

Rory Landman, Trinity College’s Senior Bursar, said: “The creation of the role of Park Director is further evidence of an exciting new phase in the life of Cambridge Science Park. Jeanette will be based at the Bradfield Centre – a 40,000 sq ft building opening this summer to house up to 600 technology innovators. The opening of the Bradfield Centre, and the new railway station just around the corner, herald a major transformation of the Park.

“Jeanette is well known in Cambridge for her ability to bring together people from different backgrounds, skills and experience and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships. I have no doubt her drive, energy and creativity will have a major impact on the Park as we enter this exciting new phase in its development.”

Commenting on her appointment, Jeanette added: “I am honoured to have been offered this position. I am particularly interested in the convergence of technologies as a means of finding solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The Park enables us to bring together, onto a single site, companies operating in a wide range of sectors and at all stages of development, from start-ups to multi-nationals. I am keen to create a sense of community on the Park by facilitating research, development and business collaborations between our tenants, as well as organising a host of social and leisure activities.’’
