Cambridge Science Park hosted a special anniversary reception to celebrate 55 years at the heart of the UK’s innovation ecosystem.
The event brought together innovators, policymakers, founders and industry leaders to reflect on more than five decades of scientific and technological progress and to look ahead to the next era of discovery and growth.
The reception opened with a welcome from Trinity College’s Senior Bursar, Richard Turnill, followed by an engaging overview of the Park’s history from Jane Hutchins, Director, Cambridge Science Park. Guests also heard from Tim Ensor of Cambridge Consultants, who delivered an inspiring keynote exploring the future of AI.
A panel discussion, which explored how the UK can translate scientific and technological excellence into industrial strength and global competitiveness, and the critical role of science parks in making that happen, brought together leading voices from across technology, AI and policy including: Dr Anjana Ahuja, Science Writer and Financial Times Columnist (moderator); Shan Shan Wong, Chief Business Officer at C-Gen.AI; Sue Daley OBE, Director of Technology and Innovation at techUK; and Tom Walton-Pocock, Founder of Geometry and a Cambridge Angel.
The anniversary marked not just a celebration of past achievements, but a renewed commitment to fostering the breakthroughs which will define the region’s future. Here’s to the next 55 years of innovation.
