Verification & Validation Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Verification and Validation Engineer to help us to deliver high quality, next generation optical switches to market.

About the Role

This role forms part of a Project Engineering team which reports into the Senior Project Manager and has oversight of multiple development projects covering both hardware and software developments, from initiation to qualification and release to production.  It will require you to scope, plan & lead all aspects of the verification, validation, certification and qualification activities throughout the whole life cycle. It will ensure that the V&V activities are aligned to the Project Plan, delivered to agreed cost, quality and schedule constraints. It will design and execute in house testing, in addition to the transfer and support of testing activities to 3rd parties, collecting and communicating relevant data to the project team, in addition to being the ‘custodian’ of the in-house test assets. Overall, this role will facilitate the delivery of qualification and verification data to support required accreditation and certification.

About You

To be successful you’ll need to have a qualification and/or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM subject and be capable of demonstrating your experience doing this job in a high- tech arena such as fibre-optics or communications products.  Experience of working with Software & Electronics projects is key to being successful in this role.  If you have experienced the development and transfer to manufacturing of new products, in particular the processes associated with manufacturing high reliability products (including software, materials & test strategies) in a fast changing customer driven environment, this role will enhance and consolidate your skills and experience to date. It will equally benefit you, (and us) if you have had experience of testing for any of the following:- EMI/EMC, shock, vibration, temperature, humidity and Electrical Safety, and reliability standards in the telecoms sector.
