Joining us as a Technical Support Engineer you will be working as part of our clients Maintenance Engineering team, reporting into the Engineering Manager. This is a unique and newly created position providing an exciting opportunity that, when you are not providing support on site at Cambridge, will see you enjoy global travel supporting the install and commissioning our new technologies. Travel will initially be focussed in Europe for approximately 1 week of every month so flexibility is key for this position.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled team of Engineers on site, developing your technical expertise in a start-up environment with the strength of a global organisation. This role is perfectly suited to Graduates that are wanting to work within a manufacturing environment and have ideals of making this role their own alongside an understanding and ability to troubleshoot and
test around PLC’s.
You will have the opportunity to support a team that designs solutions for industries including; advanced printing, food and transportation. Our applications are used in the activation of composite materials, additive sintering, disinfection and glueing.

Salary £25,000 - 30,000 + OTE 10% bonus

The role:
Test and troubleshoot new equipment and systems
Support the acceptance tests on-site and at customer installations
Supporting the install and commission the equipment at the customer sites
Provide input to the design and manufacturing expertise of the team
Investigate equipment, techniques, materials and hardware for new products
Give technical customer support where required
Project manage specific small projects
Global travel will be required
What we are looking for:
Technical Degree/HNC or similar experience in electrical/controls engineering
Knowledge/training or experience in testing and understanding of PLC’s
Confident in front of the customer
Practical knowledge of standard manufacturing and engineering processes
Good communication skills – able to work across team/across functions
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
On our wish list:
Experience in an Electrical/Controls Engineering role
Experience in PLC programming such as Siemens S7
Any SCADA or HMI knowledge would be highly beneficial
Experience in any of the following technologies would be advantageous - plastics, polymer, Composites, printed electronics, thin film coatings or display industry
Heraeus Noblelight UK Headquarters is located on the Cambridge Science Park, a hub for science and technology. There is ample free parking for employees on-site. The postcode for SAT NAV is CB4 0GQ. There will be a requirement for this role to travel to client sites, trade shows and exhibitions – for any travel hire vehicles will be provided and trips will be fully expensed.
