We’re looking for a conscientious and meticulous Software Engineer to join our product focused software team, building network interface software for our industry leading all-optical network switch.
About the Role
HUBER+SUHNER Polatis designs and manufactures all-optical fibre-optic switches which make and maintain their optical connections by means of our patented DirectLight™ beam steering technology. You will work independently within a small embedded software team, designing, implementing and maintain software applications in C. You’ll also design software tests for those applications, to include the requirements capture, design implementation and quality assurance of the test software in addition to writing and maintaining the design documentation.

By way of background you will need to have the following:-
- Qualified to degree or PhD level in a relevant subject
- Approximately 3 years’ experience in a software development environment
- C programming plus exposure to object oriented design or C++ programming skills
- Basic understanding of POSIX API and Linux development.
· Networked applications using IPC, TCP & UDP via sockets API knowledge.
