Role:

We are looking for a Quality Manager with a passion for Business Improvement to join our Health team in Cambridge.  You will be responsible for Quality Control and Quality Assurance at the Cambridge facility, leading compliance and improvement of existing ISO9001:2015 accreditation. You will provide strategic leadership and for site on all Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will be the primary Quality representative for Cambridge Health, and represent Johnson Matthey externally and internally for all matters related to quality
  • Lead the on-going development of the sites quality management system and to ensure that this remains compliant with external certification requirements (ISO9001:2015) and any relevant internal group policies and procedures
  • Lead and manage systems related to corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), ensure these are implemented and closed out within agreed time scales
  • Lead and manage appropriate systems related to customer feedback
  • Provide necessary training support to all other staff for all quality related systems
  • Fulfil role as Management Representative and act as primary liaison for all external audits whilst also managing appropriate internal audit program
  • Manage the sites Business / Continuous Improvement program
  • Rigorously assess, monitor and implement appropriate Key Performance Indicators for the business
  • Leadership - Demonstrates a sound understanding of the principles of leadership and can inspire, mentor and motivate team members
  • Ensuring all activities and undertaken in accordance with JM code of ethics and EHS policy and practices
  • Carrying out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Are you the ideal candidate?  

Essential skills you will have:

  • Minimum degree qualified in chemistry, life sciences or pharmaceutical science
  • Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO9001:2015
  • Experience of maintenance of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in leading Internal / External audits
  • Pharmaceutical Experience
  • Experience in Process / Continuous Improvement processes
  • Experience with document management systems, e.g, SharePoint

Some desirable skill would be:

  • Knowledge / experience of GLP/ GMP.
  • Experience and understanding of customer service gained within a contract development and manufacturing organisation) (CDMO) environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical solid-state chemistry, such as Polymorphism, Salt and cocrystal screening and selection, Crystallisation and Process development and Particle Technologies
