An opportunity has arisen to join the Operations Team in Cambridge to lead the Operations logistics function, taking responsibility for the planning, purchasing and coordination of the warehouse and finished goods stock levels.

 

Reporting to our Production Manager, this is a key role which involves people management, overseeing all dispatch tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner and in accordance with quality standards. The Operations Department is responsible for the production of over 400 catalogue products and increases to more than 1,000 when including bespoke products (c. £12m output p.a.)

 

Your duties will include:

·         Warehouse responsibilities: planning and monitoring stock levels, reviewing pricing and seeking cost effective solutions where possible

·         Ensuring a constant supply of materials by assessing and identifying suppliers and implementing supplier agreements

·         Raising purchase orders and picking stock as requested for specific orders or routine stock

·         Monitoring and recording wastage levels, including out of date stock

·         Managing and leading a small team, taking the lead where more experience is required

·         Overseeing the product kit packing to ensure completion in a timely manner and in accordance with Cytocell ISP9001 and ISO13485 quality standards and maintenance of the Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) within the team

·         Overseeing final dispatch packing, and assisting when required

·         Ensuring that all orders are packed as required and within time restraints

·         Communicating priorities and allocating duties and workload as required

·         Maintaining the FGI by planning packing workloads accordingly, producing packed products to strict deadlines to meet customer orders

You will have:

-          Demonstrable experience in warehouse and stock level management as well as managing, organising and leading people

-          Experience of working with Sage

-          Experience of working in an SME / the Life Science Industry (desirable)

-          Experience working under ISO/FDA regulations and GMP conditions (desirable)

-          Good judgement to determine when issues should be alerted/escalated and the ability to step in and advise the team where issues of a more unusual nature arise

-          Sound influencing and negotiation skills, resilience, tenacity, the ability to work under pressure, be well organised and meeting tight deadlines

-          Ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team in a sometimes highly pressurised environment
