The Process Team at Emberion, Cambridge (UK) fabricates state of the art graphene photodetector devices, which are then integrated with custom read-out electronics and software by Emberion’ s Electronics team in Helsinki, Finland. We require an experienced manufacturing operative to work flexibly within our Cambridge facility to produce, test and validate our products.
This role is varied, and a great opportunity to broaden your skill base. The manufacturing steps include lithographic fabrication, inert atmosphere functionalisation, encapsulation, electrical and optical characterisation and you will receive specialist training to perform these essential routine processes. The workload requirements in each area vary so it is critical that you are flexible, quick to learn new techniques and have exemplary attention to detail.
Roles and responsibilities
• Rotate between the different manufacturing groups as the fabrication process requires.
• Perform routine manufacturing and testing processes to ensure top-quality products.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures at all times to ensure accuracy.
• Actively contribute ideas for improving standard processes and procedures.
• Be a team player; facilitate open and constructive communication.
About you
You will be able to demonstrate practical experience of lithographic processing and optoelectronic device fabrication/measurement preferably in a cleanroom environment.
You will be familiar with, or be willing to learn, the processes used at our Cambridge manufacturing facility (e.g. photolithography, vacuum deposition, plasma etching, spin coating, inert-atmosphere glovebox operation, electrical testing using a probe station, parameter analyser, transistor characterisation and measurement, optical power measurements).
You will have a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook, knowledge of laboratory information management systems or other web-based systems would be advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written are essential for this role.
