Linguamatics: Professional Services Manager

Linguamatics is a leading provider of text mining solutions with an emphasis on high value biomedical and healthcare applications. Thanks to a great team and innovative use of natural language processing (NLP) based technology, our software is acknowledged as a leading solution in the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare industries where it is used by most of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, leading healthcare providers and US government organisations such as the FDA.

We are now looking for a professional services manager to coordinate our expanding professional services portfolio. This will involve coordination of our team of consultants and some hands-on project management for certain key projects within the portfolio. The core aspect of the role is responsibility for the smooth running, appropriate resourcing and successful delivery of all our professional services projects.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Coordinate portfolio of professional services projects to ensure customer success
  • Manage some key customer projects using effective project management skills
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the Linguamatics organisation in the US and Europe with account managers, application specialists and resource developers
  • Contribute to project planning which includes documenting customer requirements and project scope to produce statements of work for presentation to customers
  • Maintain and improve systems, processes, documentation and reporting related to professional services, including promotion of project management best practice and SOPs


The ideal candidate will present evidence of the following skills and experience:

  • Education to degree level in a relevant discipline, ideally scientific or technical
  • Project management experience of at least three years, ideally managing multiple projects simultaneously and ideally software-related projects
  • Knowledge of project methodologies and process, such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, PRINCE2, PMP, Six Sigma
  • Achievement of goals when working independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Excellent time management with ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Essential organisational and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using software tools for professional services automation and customer relationship management, such as NetSuite OpenAir and Salesforce, would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with search, text mining, analytical or informatics software and familiarity with life sciences and healthcare sectors is desirable but not essential
