About the Role

 

As a Laboratory Technician II, you will be working alongside the Imaging & Flow team, New Product Development.
You will be responsible for the validation of antibodies in a variety of applications such as Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. The role involves buffer preparation, cell fixation, antibody titration and cell/tissue staining using manual methods and automated technology.

 

About the Imaging team at Abcam

 

The Imaging & Flow team, New Product Development, play a key role in the validation of our antibody batches and generating marketing data for new products.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct ICC-IF and IHC testing of antibodies, accurately following the assay plan and Standard Operating procedures. 
  • Accurately record assay details in the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) system 
  • Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment such as LEVS, centrifuges, pipettes, along with more bespoke equipment 
  • Prepare standard buffers and reagents according to defined operating procedures 
  • Provide general lab support, maintaining a clean and safe environment 
  • Managing lab stock reagents/consumables
  • Ensuring we adhere to quality assurance policies
  • Actively contribute ideas for improving standard processes and procedures within the Imaging team 
  • Maintain quality standards upon completion of experimental processes and also during data production and recording. 

 

About you

 

You must have a degree in a bioscience or related field and have practical experience of immunoassays working in a laboratory environment (this can be a university lab). Experience of ICC and IHC applications would be advantageous but not essential.

 


You are familiar with MS-Office applications and can sue them at basic level (Excel, Word, outlook, PowerPoint).
