Communications Manager

  • Closing date 31 Jul 2021
  • Type Full-time
  • Duration Permanent

If you are a good storyteller, able to make complex concepts easily understood and are passionate about having your work impact the world tangibly and imminently, then we want to meet you.

We are looking for a Communications Manager to join our team and help us continue revolutionizing the medical R&D process.

About Milltons
Milltons is a medical research company based in Cambridge Science Park, United Kingdom.

We discover new therapeutic mechanisms for painful and life-threatening chronic illnesses that are badly resolved with an unnecessary burden on the patients.

Today we are conducting research in Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Neurodegeneration and Vision Loss. For more information, please visit www.milltons.com

Our research and development process puts the patient first, in a literal manner.

We do not patent our findings. We run a value-based model, allowing us to discover far better solutions in record time as we have no limitations of patentability, feasibility, or scalability.

We are able to detect and treat Diabetic Retinopathy ten years earlier than mainstream technology.

Our recent work in Cystic Fibrosis has allowed us to reduce daily digestive enzymes intake of CF patients by 81% and reduction in painful symptoms by 50%.

Our endgame is to:

  • Invert the R&D process so that it is initiated and orchestrated by patient and researcher only.
  • Create the largest database of chronic patients actively involved in research.
  • Create a massive international environment where the success of medical technologies is based exclusively on their effectiveness rather than their patent or marketing budget.

We actually do what most medical companies claim to be doing.
We already walk the walk and are looking for someone to help us talk the talk.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Write/Rewrite company websites and update them periodically.
  • Writing a different story to each stake holder- patients, researchers, medical associations, medical R&D companies, universities and potential impact investors.
  • Engage the patient community to stay on our Digital Research Platform.
  • LinkedIn Communications- static information and updates about our milestones.
  • Strategic help in the brand message.

Requirements:

  • Experience in content writing.
  • Ability to communicate relatively complex messages to laymen.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple projects in parallel.
  • Passionate about creating tangible impact.
  • Experience as a junior Communications Manager role appreciated but not essential.
  • Experience with social media management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter etc) appreciated but not essential.

Compensation:
Salary based on experience, talent and motivation.
Equity in the company.

Location:
Cambridge or London. Possibility of partial remote work.
