The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has an exciting opportunity for a change specialist to join a newly formed change management team to help shape, develop and embed our ongoing change management approach and practices.

We are currently in year two of a four-year project to introduce change management as a capability for the organisation. Your role will be critical in supporting the delivery of this project and in the long-term service provision so we can meet the majority of our change management needs from within the organisation.

This role is for a person who is passionate about change management and enjoys variety within their work. Initially you will be supporting the development of competency across the different roles that are impacted by change management. This could include training/facilitation of workshops, coaching and mentoring change practitioners, working alongside change projects enabling the project to deliver the people dependent benefits and ROI and supporting and advising project sponsors.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is a professional body, a membership organisation and an international publisher with the goal of advancing excellence in the chemical sciences. With close to 600 employees, based in Cambridge, London and internationally, we do this by publishing high quality chemistry journals, books and magazines, by engaging with our circa 54,000 members and by interacting with our community to raise the profile of chemistry and ensuring high quality standards within the chemical sciences. As a result the RSC is always changing and evolving to meet its customer, member and chemistry community’s needs both for the present and future.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A proven track record within successful global change programmes/projects, using change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; experience with Prosci methodology and ADKAR Model is a plus.
  • Exceptional communicator, listener and influencer - able to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Business savvy - able to understand organisational issues and challenges.
  • Experience of coaching, training and facilitating groups and individuals to provide knowledge and build competence, engage, seek input and feedback from key stakeholder groups throughout the change process.

This is a permanent full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (minimum 28 hours per week) role, based at our Cambridge office.

If you are interested in the role, we would love to receive your application. Applications are required before the end of our closing date.  Interviews will be held on 17 – 19 March 2020.
