The electricity sector is undergoing a fundamental shift away from fossil fuels and more towardsrenewable energy. The nature of this transition can be quite complex due to numerous factors at play. This talk shows how open data available in the US can be used to create data visualisations to help illuminate how this transition is unfolding.

The speaker will be Dr Chris Davis, a Senior Researcher at Invenia Labs. Chris's research focuses on using machine learning and data science to better understand and predict the electricity grid, while also helping to make it more efficient; Invenia is among the first companies in the world to bring these techniques to the field of managing grid operation.
