Mike Scialom is a leading business journalist, who currently works on the business desk at the Cambridge Independent. A former regional daily journalist, Mike has also written a book, ‘Press-Ganged: Journalism’s shaky start to the Digital Age’ which offers a personal take on how practices changed during his 20 year career at the Cambridge News. Mike started out as an entrepreneur, co-founding a business that achieved an AIM listing, so understands things from both sides of the table. Mike will be sharing all on securing press coverage for your business.

Mike Scialom is a leading regional journalist, who works on the Business desk at the Cambridge Independent. Mike Scialom runs Cambridge Open Media, with projects including PaperClick, a last-moment payment model for journalistic content online. Mike has also written a book, ‘Press-Ganged: Journalism’s shaky start to the Digital Age’. Mike Scialom previously worked at Cambridge News for 20 years. Before becoming a journalist, he co-founded a computer games start-up which went on to achieve an AIM listing.

Mike Scialom worked at Cambridge News for 20 years, becoming Motoring Editor for the daily paper and Business Writer for Cambridge Business magazine which, following its launch in 2009, won a hat trick of Santander Financial Media awards for SME/Enterprise Magazine of the Year. Mike also worked for Future Publishing soon after it was started by TED curator Chris Anderson and, before becoming a journalist, co-founded a computer games start-up which went on to achieve an AIM listing. Mike Scialom was born in London and schooled at Aldenham School in Hertfordshire.
