Arbury
Arbury Court houses a post office, library, supermarket and other local shops. The Carlton Arms public house lies on Carlton Way,[8] which follows the route of the Roman Akeman Street.
The community is served by the Church of the Good Shepherd a red brick church designed by Stephen Dykes Bower. The Arbury community centre opened in 1974, which is also home to the Arbury Community Church.
Arbury borders the following other wards (from North, proceeding clockwise): Histon, King's Hedges, West Chesterton, Market and Castle.
Kings Hedges
Kings Hedges has good bus and road connections to the centre of Cambridge as well as ready access to the outskirts and the A14 trunk road.
Kings Hedges is home to the Cambridge Regional College further education college, as well as a number of local pubs - The Ship, The Jenny Wren and Golden Hind, shops, and the Cambridge Science Park is adjacent to the ward.
The ward has primary schools including King's Hedges Primary School, and The Grove Primary School
East and West Chesterton
Chesterton is in the northeast corner of Cambridge, on the north bank of the River Cam. Milton Road is the major arterial road through Chesterton, linking the centre of Cambridge to the southwest with the A14 road to the northeast.
Buses run seven times an hour to Cambridge city centre and six times an hour to each of Milton and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Cherry Hinton
Cherry Hinton is around 4 miles southeast of Cambridge City Centre.
There are two health centres in the village. In the High Street there are a number of shops including a supermarket, newsagent, charity shops, hairdressers, pharmacies and a bakery.
There is a village hall and sports leisure centre adjacent to the village library. The sports centre offers badminton, 5-a-side football, basketball as well as exercise classes and room hire. The village has a well-appointed recreation ground situated on the high street.

Trumpington
Trumpington is a village and former civil parish on the outskirts of Cambridge, on the southwest side of the city bordering Cherry Hinton to the east, Grantchester to the west and Great Shelford and Little Shelford to the southeast.
In 2017 a new civil parish of South Trumpington was created, which will include some of the most southerly part of the new Trumpington Meadows development.

Newnham
The modern council ward of Newnham covers much of the west of the city. Several Cambridge University colleges are situated in this ward, including Newnham, Wolfson, Robinson, Selwynand Darwin.
Newnham includes Granchester Meadows and Lammas Land, a recreation ground and playground.
Castle
Castle is named after the former Cambridge Castle which once stood on Castle Mound.
