Our mobile hairdresser, douce, is on the park every Thursday at the Bradfield Centre car park.
Owner | Stylist
"I studied at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon academy with experience in salons and barbers following two years spent with Toni and Guy Cambridge honing my skills, working at the highest standard whilst being extremely busy, surrounded by many talented people. The luxury of having a creative space at home, has allowed me to style friends and family late into the night which has lead to the ethos at douce."
Stylist | Technician
"With 15 years experience in the industry I have worked across most roles in hairdressing to get to where I am today. Starting as an apprentice at a top salon in Cambridge and working up through roles. Then I headed to London and Guildford managing salons as an artistic stylist and creative colour technician, working closely with leading company's to bring the best training and knowledge to all employees. In 2011 I made the choice to relocate back to Cambridge and settle on education. Teaching all levels from entry to level 3 and also teaching students starting from where I started as an apprentice is extremely rewarding.
In my spare time I love working on creative styles for weddings and photo shoots as well as specialising in colour. Having known Philip closely for the past 15 years it is amazing to have watched his journey to producing douce and to finally step alongside him."
From the founder, Phil
"Around six years ago I dreamt of having my own salon. Today I'm proud to introduce douce.
Having graduated at the Vidal Sassoon academy with best student honors in London 2012, I began my salon experience continuing to learn whilst working at Toni and Guy, where I further developed my skills with their contrasting method of styling.
A year out from Toni and Guy gave me an amazing opportunity to work in barber shops in Brooklyn NY and at Elle Magazine. Not only did I pick up a wide variety of skills, I was massively inspired as I boarded around the wide grided city popping into many different salons, meeting owners and gathering ideas for my own.
Having an extremely social and creative way of life, mixed with sports and writing music, I had to create a salon that would work for my lifestyle and my clients. The idea of being mobile enabled me to be free and create a flexible brand able to collaborate and work anywhere in the world."
We're proud to have been a 2017 British Hairdressing Business Awards finalist.
