Fertility Scientists Prepare for National Show
COUPLES seeking new and proven methods to increase their chances of conception will get a chance to quiz the scientists behind a groundbreaking UK invention at this weekend’s Fertility Show.
The Cambridge-based creators of the DuoFertility device will be exhibiting at the two-day show being held at London’s Olympia (Friday 5th and Saturday 6th November).
Invented by scientists from Cambridge University, the innovation is in use across the UK and Europe and has seen numerous couples successfully conceive during their use of the product. It accurately predicts fertile days by automatically monitoring body temperature up to 20,000 times each day, and relaying these over the internet to Cambridgeshire based fertility consultants.
Research compiled by Cambridge Temperature Concepts – who invented the device – has shown that the DuoFertility system is as effective as IVF for couples struggling to conceive.
Its impressive success rates have already led to great responses in the world of reproductive medicine, and this weekend, one of the team behind the device, Dr Chausiaux, will present the information at a World Congress on obstetrics in Berlin.
As Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Chausiaux will tell the accomplished audience at the World Congress how the DuoFertility programme of research resulted in a pregnancy success rate of 19.5% after six months.*
She said: “Our system has received great reaction within the world of reproductive medicine, but for us, the opportunity to be at events like The Fertility Show means that we can get direct to the very people who desperately want to find a product like ours which may just be the answer to their prayers.
“So many couples in the UK find themselves struggling to conceive for unexplained reasons, and we are delighted that our device is able to present real help to so many.”
She added: “What we now know as a result of our work, is that for certain causes of infertility, DuoFertility is as effective as IVF. Clearly there are some infertility issues where the use of the device is unable to aid pregnancy such as a complete lack of sperm, however for a range of common causes such as moderate male factors, cycle irregularity, secondary or unexplained infertility, our monitoring device is achieving great results.”
The device itself was invented and launched by a team of Cambridge University scientists, eager to help couples suffering from ‘unexplained infertility’. The condition is such that it accounts for one third of all couples attempting IVF.

NOTES TO EDITORS:
DuoFertility is designed and marketed by a team of fertility experts at Cambridge Temperature Concepts Ltd., a privately owned company based in Cambridge, UK. DuoFertility is available on www.DuoFertility.com. It is manufactured in the UK and priced at £495, a fraction of the cost of invasive procedures such as IVF. This includes the sensor and handheld device, along with comprehensive support from the Cambridge Temperature Concepts team on data interpretation and guidance on achieving conception.
As a company dedicated to helping couples get pregnant naturally, we understand that giving the best possible chance to couples to achieve a pregnancy is the first step; however carrying the pregnancy to term and ensuring excellent maternal and child health is equally important.
