New website represents the Babraham Institute’s world class status

KISS Communications, the creative agency, is delighted to announce the launch of a new digital presence for the Babraham Institute, a world-leading life sciences research centre focused on lifelong health and wellbeing. The launch includes a fully responsive, mobile first website ( which highlights the strengths of the Institute and enables it to stand out in its sector.


The Babraham Institute, which is strategically funded by the BBSRC, delivers research excellence in basic cell and molecular biology to understand the mechanisms underlying developmental and ageing processes.


KISS became involved in the project to help the Babraham Institute achieve its objectives of designing a new website to strongly promote its activities, provide clear navigation relevant to the Institute’s key audiences, and increase visibility of engagement opportunities. KISS worked with the Babraham Institute in a highly collaborative process, first facilitated by a brand workshop. The objective was to understand the why, who and how of the Babraham Institute and, crucially, clarify how this should be communicated.


Once the brand communication had been addressed KISS began the website project, kicking off with a digital discovery workshop which identified site users, what they needed and how the site architecture would work. Following this the project moved into finer detail, addressing the types of content required for each page.

About the Babraham Institute

The Babraham Institute, which receives strategic funding (a total of £28.8M in 2013-14) from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), undertakes international quality life sciences research to generate new knowledge of biological mechanisms underpinning ageing, development and the maintenance of health. The Institute’s research provides greater understanding of the biological events that underlie the normal functions of cells and the implication of failure or abnormalities in these processes.
