The Technology Scholarship Scheme in Practice

The first year

You’ll work at Cambridge Consultants as a salaried employee for approximately ten months between finishing school and starting at university, joining a team aligned to your technical interests and career aspirations. During this time you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects, taking part in the day to day work of the company alongside highly experienced engineers, interspersed with periods of practical training relevant to your chosen discipline.

As an employee of Cambridge Consultants you’ll also enjoy our many benefits, including participation in the company bonus scheme, 37 hours flexible working week, free lunches and refreshments plus 25 days annual holiday (Pro rata) and bank holidays.

Subsequent Years

At the end of your ‘gap year’ placement with Cambridge Consultants, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for an annual bursary and summer vacation work. If successful, you’ll be eligible to receive a generous annual bursary for the duration of your first degree as well as guaranteed further employment with Cambridge Consultants during your university summer vacations.

To apply, you’ll need to have, or expect to gain, qualification for entry to university to study for a first degree in an appropriate technical or scientific discipline. Selections for interview will be made on the basis of education, ambitions and leisure activities. We will give preference to those intending to follow a career in engineering, applied science or closely related topics, but we’ll consider applications from candidates in any numerate or science-based discipline.
