Main Role

To be the lead design authority for user experiences in new digital services, with a broad overview of all the stakeholders, encompassing end users, back office functions and technical operations. With a focus on the digital services, you will also need to work very closely with UI and industrial designers to establish a coordinated end-to-end service design.

Work within multi-disciplinary teams of highly talented people from around the globe that drive changes in technology to deliver novel solutions to the everyday needs of individuals and corporations alike.

 

Type of Work

Digital Services is a new initiative for Cambridge Consultants; one that builds on the extensive range of work by the company in connected devices, data analytics and integrated systems across many sectors and with clients from around the world. Working closely with other groups in Cambridge Consultants we seek to deliver exciting new services in medical, consumer and industrial sectors as well as to drive forward the servitization of the company’s own IP.

We combine excellent technical and commercial skills with robust service design and evaluation methods and a broad base of industry experience to form a powerful development team. Our work ranges from undertaking complete service platform development and operations from concept, pilots and commercial launch, through to providing consulting services for our clients on their technology, product offering and future strategy.

 

Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary project teams of Engineers, Consultants and Designers to realise your insights for simple, accessible and easy to use services that take into account a deep understanding of a broad range of stakeholders and the context in which they will be using the service.

Combine formal User Experience orientated design methods with a strong sense of empathy to understand the needs and behaviours of the users of the service and to translate this into robust requirements.

To work with our partners in Cambridge University to adopt and adapt the latest research in Inclusive Design to become a robust toolkit and methodology for measuring and designing Digital Services.

To lead clients in workshops, focus groups and field studies to map, measure and improve their product and service offerings.

 

Requirements

You will have significant experience in applying formal User Experience orientated design methods to real world problems, especially those where Digital Services plays a central role.

You will have practical experience of business analysis techniques and the use of BPM tools such as BizAgi.

You will be aware of the latest thinking in Inclusive Design and have a vision for how it can be applied to digital services.

You will have significant experience in facilitating and leading workshops and group discussions.

You will have experience of working with multi-disciplinary development teams.

You will have experience in deploying and supporting services through pilot and into commercial operations.

You will have an excellent degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline.

You will have proven leadership and communication skills.
