Oakland Innovation is a leading consulting company based in Cambridge. We work with some of the best known global corporations with a particular strength in Foods Consumer products and Health Care markets. Working with R&D, Business Development and Marketing functions our multinational team of postgraduate scientists, technologists, business strategists help these companies explore product, process and business innovation opportunities.
As part of its on-going growth plans Oakland is currently recruiting Consultants to join its team.
Specific responsibilities
You will have responsibility for end-to-end management of projects from client briefing, research design, primary (telephone) and secondary (literature) research, analysis of information, report writing and presentation of findings to the client. Responsibilities will also include relationship building and networking with clients to support business development.
Minimum requirements
We are looking to recruit a high calibre individual, ideally with a PhD or equivalent qualification within a scientific or engineering discipline.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate consulting experience gained in an innovative environment, ideally working with FMCG type organisations. Candidates must have the ability to build effective relationships with clients quickly and have demonstrated excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate must also have demonstrable experience of working with senior management, either internal or external to their organisation, to assist in informing strategic decisions.
Fluency in a foreign language would be an advantage. An interest in the application of science in a business environment is essential.
It will be necessary for applicants to have worked with standard computer programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience of using commercial research datatbases to retrieve relevant literature, patents and market data would also be of advantage.
Rates of pay will be subject to experience.
