The role will be very hands-on. Day-to-day duties will primarily comprise helpdesk and desktop support to a variety of IT competence levels.
The successful candidate will ideally be an IT graduate with a minimum of a 2:2 in an IT related discipline, though comparable experience will be considered, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written and a strong drive to progress your IT career. Commercial experience in a helpdesk environment would be advantageous.
The candidate must have good all round experience of PC hardware maintenance and repairs, experience of Microsoft Windows XP and 7, excellent attention to detail, have a can-do attitude and good organisational skills.
Duties will include handling new support requests from initial diagnosis to resolution, installation and support of a wide range of Microsoft Windows desktop software, building and rebuilding PC and laptop deployments and the distribution and configuration of game developments kits and peripherals.
There will be a requirement for lifting IT equipment such as PCs, printers, monitors and other associated hardware.
Exposure to software packages such as 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Visual Studio, and Microsoft Office would be beneficial.
