Cambridge Consultants: Recruitment Officer – Graduates and Interns Ref 1151


This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for our graduate and intern recruitment campaigns. You’ll be visiting top engineering universities recruiting engineers, scientists and mathematicians at recruitment fairs and company presentations on campus. It’s a fast paced, varied and dynamic role ideally suited to someone with plenty of enthusiasm and passion for recruiting top engineering talent.

 

Role description

In this role you will attract and recruit excellent Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics talent from top universities. You’ll be recruiting both graduates and interns.

Cambridge Consultant’s growth plans over the next 5 years are ambitious and we anticipate a continuous recruitment cycle.  We currently recruit around 35 graduates and interns each year, and anticipate similar numbers during our period of growth.

 

Specific responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for our graduate recruitment activities including our very popular internship programmes
  • Identifying target universities and relevant careers fairs appropriate to our needs, ensuring diverse representation across the company
  • Booking and organising our attendance at recruitment fairs and relevant university talks, demos and presentations, including all associated travel and accommodation
  • Attendance at recruitment fairs along with a team of engineers and scientists
  • Organising and designing stand layout and graphics
  • Preparation for each event including packing of materials and sourcing appropriate literature and promotional items
  • Working closely with our Marketing team to produce appropriate graduate and intern brochures and other marketing material, ensuring it is fit for purpose
  • Developing relationships with specific university careers service and societies, including identifying suitable sponsorship opportunities
  • Developing strong working relationships with hiring managers, ensuring graduate hiring needs are met for their groups
  • Producing detailed job specifications for each vacancy
  • Liaising closely with our PSL of recruitment agencies for assistance when required
  • Reviewing all applications and forward to line managers for final selection to interview
  • HR interviews, pre –briefs and de-briefs
  • Providing guidance and advice to hiring managers in relation to recruitment queries
  • Ensuring decisions on every applicant are followed through
  • Keeping interview and recruitment reports up to date

 

Minimum requirements

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience of graduate recruitment
  • A successful track record of technical recruitment
  • Demonstrable understanding of what it takes to attract high calibre graduates and interns in a competitive industry sector
  • You’ll be highly organised, able to work under pressure, have plenty of initiative and be able to assign priorities without supervision

DESIRABLE

  • Recruitment experience gained within the STEM sector
  • In-house/ internal recruitment experience
  • Experience organising and planning events would be a distinct advantage

This role will require regular travel within the UK (Intensive travel October to February)
