Graphics-driver Software Engineer

Cambridge is the headquarters of Broadcom’s Mobile Multimedia group which designs software and hardware for the multimedia chips powering the next generation of mobile phones and media players.

These devices support HD video record and playback, 12 Mpixel cameras with advanced image processing, and high-performance 3D for advanced user interfaces, navigation displays, and mobile gaming.

As a talented and creative software engineer, you will be part of an extremely strong technical team developing software for our low power multimedia architecture, VideoCore. You will join our graphics group which designs and integrates drivers such as OpenGL ES and OpenVG, ensuring that these deliver high performance in real-world systems. This opportunity will give the right engineer exposure at all levels from the hardware to the upper levels of the software.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic background together with a proven track-record in the following areas: C and assembler development on an embedded platform; Graphics driver development; Working with other teams and/or customers; Working with embedded operating systems such as Linux or Symbian; Working closely with hardware designers and RTL. Above all, we are looking for a committed and highly motivated individual who is able to make an outstanding contribution to a small and closely-knit team that is developing an exciting and world-leading technology.
