About the role
We are looking for a QA Manual Tester for a 4-month contract to support us during an Oracle ERP implementation. You will work in one or more of the software development teams completing test scripting, hands-on testing, bug reporting and tracking. Your focus will be on helping deliver upgrades to in-house developed web applications impacted by a changing technology landscape.
Duties will include:
- Collaborate with various technical and non-technical roles to identify and write test cases from business scenarios
- Perform manual testing (including raising defect reports, tracking to conclusion) across ERP integrations and web applications
- Following defined QA process according to the in-house Agile s/w dev methodology (volleyball, retro, estimation, etc.)
- Work on more than one deliverable at once, co-ordinating/switching effort as needed
About the QA team at Abcam
Abcam is on a journey of a multi-year investment in its core IT systems. Our architectural landscape which supports our industry leading E-Commerce platform will consist of in-house developed systems utilising integration solutions (WebMethods) to incorporate Oracle Cloud ERP as well as other packaged systems (Cloud and On-Premise). Therefore, any experience in messaging, interfacing and architecting in this ecosystem is advantageous. As well as our agile teams, QA is a cross-cutting function or “guild”. As part of the QA team you’ll have the opportunity to work on QA initiatives as well as your software development team project work.
You will have a degree in computer science, or in a numerate or scientific discipline, or have equivalent experience. You will have 3+ years of work experience in a hands-on manual testing role.
You will also have practical experience with an ERP system or integration suites and will have used bug-tracking tools and be able to plan projects and estimate timings. Also performance testing experience, perhaps with tools like JMeter would be ideal.
You will also have experience testing web applications, and so experience with HTML, CSS etc
Equally important is the ability to be a team player and be detail oriented and thorough.
