About the role

Abcam, a rapidly growing bioscience organisation, are looking for a Project Coordinator / Assistant to join our dynamic EMEA Custom Service Team, helping to drive major scientific projects toward major milestones and successful completion.

They will support the scientific project management function with managing and documenting timelines. This may include the sourcing of reagents*, scheduling immunisations, supporting customer interactions, populating work reports and product datasheets. In addition, the appointed person will assist with products’ receipt and shipment and data entry.

*A reagent is a substance or compound added to a system to cause a chemical reaction, or added to test if a reaction occurs.

 

About the EMEA Custom Service team

The EMEA Custom Service team support commercial partners with everything on the journey from development to market. Our services include product customisation, custom antibody development, downstream assay development, project management, and intellectual property (IP)/licensing services. We are a team of dynamic and very passionate individuals who work very closely as a team to ensure the successful delivery of customer projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the project manager in managing and documenting project timelines.
  • Manage outsourced work with vendors.
  • Source critical reagents for use within customer projects.
  • Prepare both data reports and product datasheets.
  • Support laboratory logistics, preparing documentation, packaging outgoing shipments and receiving incoming materials.
  • Any other relevant duties as required to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

 

About you

You have solid experience of coordinating / assisting with projects or within a fast-paced administrative role, supporting a busy team. Ideally you are degree-educated and have had previous experience within a scientific environment, although not essential.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role as you will be liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders and need to build solid relationships. In addition, you need to be highly organised with a strong attention to detail to be able to prioritise multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

You are a strong team-player, highly motivated and enthusiastic about learning and supporting the team to reach a common goal.

You are familiar with MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
