A peaceful and serene environment

From its earliest days the Cambridge Science Park has benefited from a park like setting of low density. The original landscaping design philosophy was inwards looking with the objective being to create a peaceful and serene environment in accord with a location whose ideal is the pursuit of scientific research and development. Strenuous efforts have been made to conceal car parks behind trees and shrub covered bunds.

In practical terms, the 152 acre site benefits from 20 acres of amenity landscaping which provides a central area of lakes, natural habitat, mature trees, shrubs and extensive grassed areas. No building is permitted in this protected area.

In addition between 35% and 40% of each building plot is dedicated to further landscaping which extends to the very periphery of each building.
